Complying with Risk Assessment and ERP Requirements under America’s Water Infrastructure Act: Free Webinar for the Water Sector

  • February 13
  • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

United States

WaterISAC will host a free webinar open to all interested parties on Wednesday, February 13 at 3 p.m. ET on the risk assessment and emergency response plan requirements under the America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA). Enacted last October, the act requires drinking water utilities to complete risk and resilience assessments (RRAs) and update their emergency response plans every 5 years. Utilities serving more than 100,000 people must complete their RRAs and certify their completion to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by March 31, 2020. Medium-sized and smaller utilities must certify their completion by later dates.

Learn about these new requirements, EPA plans for implementation and guidance, and tools that will be available to help utilities.

  • David Travers and Dan Schmelling from EPA’s Water Security Division will discuss the requirements under the act and describe how EPA will implement them. They will also address the certification process and describe the resources that EPA is developing to help utilities comply with the new requirements.
  • Kevin Morley of the American Water Works Association will discuss AWWA standards, such as AWWA’s J100 risk assessment standard, and tools available to water utilities.

Registration is open to all interested parties. Please forward this invitation to your colleagues in the sector.
