National Green Infrastructure Certification Program
Green infrastructure (GI) has become a critical component to comprehensive stormwater management. However, successful implementation of green infrastructure requires access to adequately skilled workforce available to perform the installation, inspection, and maintenance tasks.
By underscoring your competency in these areas, certification increases your competitiveness in the job market, and provides a pathway to higher paying positions.
The benefits of becoming certified by the NGICP include:
- Expansion of your skills and knowledge of building, inspecting and maintaining GI systems
- Greater awareness of GI career opportunities
- Proof of your commitment to supporting sustainable performance of GI practices
- Exposure to employers looking to hire skilled GI workers through the NGICP Certification Database
The Water Environment Federation will be providing a combined NGICP exam training (required) and credential exam on June 11-15 in Santa Monica, California with an introductory fee of $700.
NGICP certification requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and completion of the exam training course.
The exam is currently administered as a paper-and-pencil test. Results are usually available within 30-45 days.
