BACWA’s Toxicity Workshop
Toxicity testing is the most expensive analysis that agencies perform. Historically, agencies’ permits have been written with triggers, rather than limits, for chronic toxicity. However, the Regional Water Board is beginning to institute toxicity limits for agencies who have reasonable potential, and the State Water Board has restarted the process of developing Toxicity Provisions that will require toxicity limits for most municipal NPDES dischargers in the State.
BACWA plans to host a workshop at Central Contra Costa Sanitary District on September 18, with speakers from the leading toxicity labs statewide, as well as laboratory staff from our member agencies. The workshop will cover the basics of toxicity testing, what changes agencies can expect once the State Toxicity Provisions are adopted, as well as tips for successful toxicity testing, and reducing costs.
There are a few slots left, so please register by Tuesday September 12.
